Brief Update

It's been a pretty quick week due to the day out on Tuesday and recovering all day Wednesday. On Thursday Joel, Blaine, Shaun and I went out to a chain restaurant called 'Old Country Buffet' outside Bellevue which as the name suggests, is a buffet. You pay about $8.50 and you can eat all you want, and they generally do what would be regarded as school dinner food. So you can get spaghetti bolognese, a slice of pizza, mashed potatoes, teriyaki chicken, gravy and strawberries on one plate. Obviously the food isn't fit for a king but then again, I ain't a king. The chain is said to be popular with the over 60s, with many people making a couple of trips every week. We were in it for the bottomless plates. There were a few of the elder regulars who were good value for their insistent advice when strolling around the huge buffet. "Gotta get the gravy! Always get the gravy!"

We also managed to go out in the evening to Rock Bottom restaurant/bar for dinner and to take advantage of their $1 a beer (on a seasonal beer called Uberwit). After a few drinks there, Reuben, Jesse, Shaun and I went to a pool hall at the top of Lincoln Square. The place was called The Parlour and was a really classy joint. It was the complete foil of a typical pool hall. There were bouncers on the door! Our waitress took us to our table and racked the balls up for us, and showed us where the switch was to call for service. And the house cues were all straight! Needless to say we all felt a bit out of place, and after a few $5 beers and being hustled by Reuben "I haven't played for years" Fries we went somewhere a bit more familiar (The tap house). It was a fairly long evening all together.

Today was a fairly brief day as well, and somehow I managed to spend the last hour of the day putting together furniture for the companies new lounge area. A group of us went out to take advantage of a happy hour offer in Lincoln Square near the pool hall which was good fun. We stopped back in the office afterwards (which is now a normal occurrence) and like typical guys, spent about 30 mins throwing a ball at stuff and nearly breaking the new furniture :-p

Monday is a holiday over here. I can't remember which one. So most people are going camping with their families apparently. I'm not entirely sure what we'll be doing over the weekend so stay tuned.

yo!

Monday is Memorial Day here in the states. We pay respect to, um, something. I don't quite remember.

All I really remember is that we get the day off.

Also, if you and Shaun are bored and looking for something to do on Monday, give me a ring or text or something. We're NOT camping (heh) so we could include you guys on the goings-on a bit north of Seattle.
