ow my head

I spent the majority of today getting in way over my head in a number of respects. I managed to get my head round how Arabic and Western strings can be mangled together without a whole load of work, and I managed to explain the theory behind abstraction layers to a new employee. So by 4pm my head was completely spinning. I could barely focus, and Dave was confusing things by throwing a few extras in to the mix.

Well I guess it would be fair to say (and I don't think people could complain about this) that this morning was pretty 'punchy'. There was swearing from every dev office and plenty of 'banter'. Pretty much as high stress an environment as I think we would ever experience at this stage (or at least as much as I would like to encounter). However, after lunch, things seemed to come together. And by 4pm, everybody seemed to be in a good enough state to kick back and enjoy themselves. It was about this point that I had no idea what was going on as I had just come off the back of programming instruction. One mixer, a straight shot of Grey Goose and three beers later, I had a better idea of what was going on. And then I decided to write this blog. Points for good ideas there.

This week has really crept around pretty quickly. It's the end of the week before I even got in to the swing of things. I know I have a lot of work to do tomorrow as the dependencies have shift and I've now got a mountain to climb... I was just waiting for the mountain :p

So I'm pretty much planning to get an early night tonight cus I want to get as much done as possible tomorrow morning as I'm pretty sure the other guys intend on deteriating to drink as soon as it seems appropriate.

This weekend I'll be visiting Pike Place Market (a famous Seattle tourist hot spot) as well as checking out the view from the tallest building this side of the misissisipppi misissisipi misippee in the North West. I'll be sure to get some good photos!

Anyway, I'll be taking off now. Need to start thinking about dinner... might get Fatburger!
