Our plane took off eventually after being told the auxiliary engine was down. Which meant there was no air conditioning for the first half hour. The cabin was roasting. Anyway, I got the seat next to a 5-year old who was well behaved and really quiet, but kept kicking me in his sleep. Fun. Oh, and the bloody Americans clapped after what was a poorly executed routine landing. Embaressing.
Flight was terrible. Couldn't sleep, food was terrible, no good films. Queue for border control was really busy and Luke got a good grilling for doing something wrong but we never found out what it was.
$60 cab journey later and we're in our very simple but perfectly serviceable hotel rooms. Have been for a brief midnight stroll around the rubbish-bin laden block. Spotted a few bars!
Meeting at 8am tomorrow so need sleep!
