I've been out in Portugal for around five weeks on and off now. I've stayed in the same hotel the whole time (apart from a brief three day stint in the Tryp) and I'm starting to wish I had taken more photographs!
Well my trip got extended again. I'll now be returning to London on the 26th (in time for closing) with every possibility I'll be on a plane the next Monday.
It's not been terrible out here by any means: I've had a great time and although most of my time has spent working, I've still managed to eat well and excersise (or as the delivery manager calls it, "taking the developers out for walkies"). Oriente does pretty well at maintaning some soul despite being a concrete jungle which I think has been the difference between survival and insanity.
That's not to say people haven't gone insane out here though! We've all been working hard and I don't think any one could blame us for getting the giggles time to time. As though we haven't been told this for the last two months - we're on the final straight now - and so it's good that every one has found their working rythmn (18 hours of work, 6 hours of sleep and 4 hours of drinking... trust me it adds up).
The fact that I've found myself at a lead engineer position doesn't seem to phase me as much as I would have thought. I'll see if I still think that by the time I get on a plane next week.
